Chateau Musar 2022 Levantine de Musar Bekaa Valley

Château Musar 2022 Levantine de Musar (Bekaa Valley, Lebanon) is a vibrant, modern expression from Lebanon’s most iconic winery—showcasing bright Mediterranean fruit, supple tannins, and Musar’s signature sense of place. Unlike the estate’s famously long-aged flagship wines, Levantine is crafted to emphasize freshness and approachability while still reflecting the rugged terroir and old-world craftsmanship of the Bekaa Valley. The 2022 vintage is lively and elegant, with red fruit, spice, and gentle structure that make it both versatile and distinctive.

Origins & Craftsmanship
Château Musar, founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar, is widely regarded as Lebanon’s most influential winery. Its vineyards lie in the Bekaa Valley, a high-altitude plateau around 1,000 meters above sea level where sunny days and cool nights help grapes ripen fully while preserving acidity.

The Levantine de Musar cuvée is produced from organically farmed vineyards in the West Bekaa Valley and is designed as a youthful, expressive wine reflecting the region’s Levantine identity. The 2022 vintage is typically composed of approximately 50% Cinsault, 40% Tempranillo, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.

Unlike the estate’s flagship wines, Levantine is unoaked, fermented in concrete vats, and bottled relatively early to preserve fresh fruit character and purity of terroir.  This approach produces a wine that still carries Musar’s complexity but in a brighter, more approachable style.
