Crafted by the house of Dos Maderas, this rum begins its journey from Caribbean distilled spirits (from regions such as Guyana and/or Barbados) matured first in tropical conditions for roughly 10 years in ex-bourbon casks. Following this tropical maturation, the rum is transferred to Spain—specifically to the sherry-region cellars of Jerez de la Frontera—where it spends an additional 5 years aging in old Pedro Ximénez sherry casks via solera or double-maturation techniques. This “double-aged” process (tropical ageing + Spanish sherry cask ageing) gives the rum its distinctive depth, complexity and finish. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) unless stated otherwise.
