El Tesoro Tequila Anejo

Richly nuanced and elegantly aged, El Tesoro Añejo Tequila strikes a superb balance between lush agave character and oak-derived complexity. Its refined spice, floral layers, and smooth finish make it a standout sipping tequila.

Origins & Craftsmanship

Produced at the historic La Alteña distillery in Arandas, Jalisco—founded in 1937 by Don Felipe Camarena—this tequila stays faithful to traditional methods. The blue Weber agave is slow-cooked in stone pit ovens, crushed via a centuries-old volcanic stone tahona wheel, and distilled twice in copper pot stills. The Añejo then rests for 2–3 years in American ex-bourbon barrels. The distillery continues to be guided by family legacy, with Jenny Camarena now leading as Master Distiller.

Tasting Profile

  • Appearance: Clear golden amber.

  • Aroma: Delicate notes of floral jasmine meld with bold oak and hints of cooked agave, rounded by whispers of vanilla and caramel.

  • Palate: Softly layered with agave sweetness, vanilla custard, light caramel, and oak tannin. Mid-palate brings forward subtle white pepper, floral (orange blossom), and gentle spice of cinnamon and roasted nuts.

  • Finish: Elegant and moderately long—warm oak spice, fading agave sweetness, and lingering notes of toasted nuts, dried fruit, and herbal undertones.
