El Tesoro Tequila Reposado
Elegantly balanced and deeply rooted in tradition, El Tesoro Reposado delivers quintessential agave authenticity wrapped in a layer of subtle oak complexity. It’s smooth and savory, perfect for sipping neat or elevating refined cocktails.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Distilled at the historic La Alteña distillery in Arandas, Jalisco—established in 1937 and guided by the Camarena family—the production of this tequila is fiercely artisanal. Blue Weber agave is slow-roasted in traditional stone (hornos) ovens and crushed by the ancient two-ton tahona wheel, preserving agave fibers in the fermentation. Fermented in wooden vats using natural yeast, the spirit is double-distilled in copper pot stills and bottled to proof with no dilution afterward.
Aging
Aged for 9–11 months in ex-bourbon American oak barrels—often stripped of char—this aging process adds layered vanilla and caramel notes without overwhelming the agave core.
Tasting Profile
-
Appearance: Pale straw to golden hue.
-
Aroma: Warm and inviting—smoky oak with notes of cooked agave, vanilla, subtle dill, and bright citrus.
-
Palate: Rich and layered—agave melds with toasted oak, butterscotch, roasted nuts, honey, and light butterscotch sweetness; peppery spice and citrus zest spice things up.
-
Finish: Long, smooth, and pepper-forward—finishing with lingering oak, sweet agave, and a warming whisper of oak spice.
