Mancino Rosso Vermouth
This is a beautifully bold and complex vermouth that stands apart from the usual sweet-red vermouths. Rich and aromatic, with a deep herbal backbone and serious flavour intensity, it works brilliantly both as a sipping vermouth and as the star ingredient in elevated cocktails.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Crafted in Italy by the Mancino Vermouth brand, the Rosso Amaranto is built on a base of Trebbiano di Romagna white wine that is fortified and infused with a carefully selected blend of 38 aromatic botanicals, including roots, herbs and spices. The infusion is followed by careful maceration and blending to achieve both body and finesse. The result: a dark red coloured vermouth with caramel-toned highlights and a flavour profile that bridges classic vermouth and amaro-style depth.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Opens with warm vanilla and caramelised sugar, followed by rhubarb, juniper berries, toasted wood and a hint of myrrh or resinous herbal root. Orange peel and Christmas-spice echoes (clove, cinnamon bark) emerge gently.
-
Palate: Full-bodied and lush, the sweetness is matched by a firm herbal bitterness: vanilla and rhubarb sweetness lead, then juniper and dried-orange peel, toasted wood and a trace of myrrh give the mid-palate weight. Clove, cinnamon and subtle herbal bitterness make the finish more than just candy-sweet.
-
Finish: The finish is long, bittersweet and layered. The wood and herbal roots linger alongside dried orange peel, resinous spice and a gentle drying effect. The traditional sugar in sweet vermouth is present, but this expression has more depth, more structure, and more personality.
