Ron Zacapa XO is a sumptuous, full-bodied aged rum that marries elegance and intensity. Silky smooth, rich with dried fruit, spice, and toffee depth, it’s a benchmark sipping rum that feels more like a fine cognac than a traditional molasses spirit—perfect for slow enjoyment and special occasions.


Origins & Craftsmanship

Crafted in Guatemala by Casa Zacapa, this ultra-premium rum is produced from first-press sugarcane honey (rather than molasses), lending a richer, cleaner base spirit. Fermentation takes place with a strain of yeast derived from pineapple, giving natural fruit complexity before distillation.
The rum is matured using Zacapa’s signature Solera system, in which older and younger rums mingle through a cascade of barrels that previously held American whiskey, sherry, and Pedro Ximénez wine, finally finished in French oak Cognac casks.
The blend includes rums aged between 6 and 25 years, all aged at 2,300 meters above sea level in the cool mountain air of Quetzaltenango—conditions that slow maturation and enhance smoothness. Bottled at 40% ABV, Ron Zacapa XO represents the pinnacle of the house’s aging artistry.


Tasting Profile

Nose: Deep and enveloping aromas of toffee, roasted nuts, vanilla bean, cocoa, and caramelized figs mingle with dried apricot, orange peel, and a touch of spice.
Palate: Luxurious and velvety. Flavours of dark chocolate, raisin, date, and prune unfold into notes of butterscotch, honey, cinnamon, and oak. The Cognac-cask finish adds polished elegance with hints of toasted almond and fine leather.
