Telson Anejo Tequila
Smooth, rich and remarkably approachable, Telsón Añejo delivers aged-tequila craftsmanship at an outstanding value. Enjoyable immediately but refined enough for thoughtful sipping, it’s a premium 100% blue agave tequila with barrel-built depth and a velvety finish.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Telsón (also spelled Telson) is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The piñas are harvested at peak maturity, slow-cooked and fermented in small-batch runs before being double-distilled. For the Añejo expression, the spirit is matured for approximately one year in oak barrels — with references pointing to either French Limousin oak or American white-oak barrels. The aging process softens the agave’s natural edge and adds oak-driven spices, vanilla and caramel nuances.
Critics Reviews
-
Retail note: “rich flavors of caramel, vanilla and roasted agave with a smooth, velvety texture and a long, elegant finish.”
-
Another appraisal: “aromas of roasted agave, chocolate and spice” backed by a full body with subtle oak complexity.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: Warm amber hue; aroma of roasted agave merges with caramelised vanilla, soft oak wood and hints of cinnamon and chocolate.
-
Palate: Medium-bodied and smooth — cooked agave sweetness leads, followed by vanilla bean, mild caramel, toasted oak and gentle baking-spice (nutmeg/clove).
-
Finish: Long and polished; the vanilla and oak linger while the agave’s fresh brightness returns in a subtle wave, leaving a clean, satisfying aftertaste.
