Blood Oath Bourbon Straight Whiskey Pact No. 11
Blood Oath Pact No. 11 is a bold, innovative bourbon release that blends traditional aging with a distinctive finishing twist. It delivers rich caramel, dried-fruit complexity and a subtle agave/tequila barrel note—ideal for both bourbon aficionados and adventurous drinkers.
Origins & Craftsmanship
This release from Lux Row Distillers is the 11th “Pact” in the Blood Oath series. The blend consists of:
-
a 14-year-old rye-heavy bourbon,
-
a 10-year-old wheated bourbon, and
-
a 7-year-old rye-bourbon portion that was finished in añejo-tequila barrels.
The final product is bottled at 98.6 proof (49.3% ABV) and comes in a limited edition run of around 51,000 bottles. The finishing in tequila barrels adds nuance and uniqueness to the classic bourbon core.
Critics Reviews
-
Reviewer Christopher Null of DrinkHacker described Pact No. 11 as “a charry, rye-heavy character that kicks off with classic bourbon spice and vanilla, then the añejo-tequila finish begins to emerge—salted, herbal, peppery, and distinct.”
-
Whiskey critic Eric Hasman for Breaking Bourbon noted: “It opens dessert-like—flan, golden raisin, mango, honeydew, orange bitters—then the palate brings vanilla pudding, lime zest, nutmeg, cinnamon and finishes with dry oak, sugar-cane, black currant and black pepper.”
These reviews highlight the unusual marriage of matured bourbon and tequila-barrel finishing and how the result stands out in the series.
